He’s one of those guys that doesn’t like to have his photo taken. Sorry about that but, I’ll tell you his story any way.

I have a brother on the east coast of Canada who has chosen a different direction in Power Engineering / Stationary Engineering. He has maintained environmental controls for a large hotels and office buildings. He works 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. He has a fourth class ticket and is in charge of the building's engineering department. He likes being home at the same time his wife gets off from her job so they can spend time with each other and do things with the kids. This is great for the family life. The important point is, it is available for those who want it. He still earns more money than what he use to, prior to getting his certificate.

My brother has more job confidence and employment marketability, due to the certificate he now possesses. He knows if he doesn't like the job he has, he can soon find a new job elsewhere because, he has his certificate.

Even though I have had my certificate longer than my brother has, I have been with the same employer since 1984. He has worked with a number of different employers since acquiring his certificate.

He knows he has a flexible and a valuable career that gives him the kind of freedom to do what he does and keep paying the bills when they come in.
