There are a number of educational institutions (Vocational Schools, Trades Schools & Technical Schools) in Canada & the US that you can acquire the P.E.T. or Stationary Engineering learning materials and textbooks, including S.A.I.T. itself.
  • The American Society of Power Engineers, Inc. (ASOPE) is an independent third party licensing agency whose objective is to establish national standards and a formal structured level of competence for nation and international recognition of the Power Engineer.  National branch: http://www.asope.org/ Click on their Contact link on the top part of their web page to find the office nearest you.  They also have training materials and can refer you to buy the right textbooks to complete your studies.
  • The American Society of Power Engineers, Inc. (ASOPE) for the mid west part of the US. http://www.midwestboard.com Area Covered: Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Lower Michigan, Tennessee, West Virginia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont and Maine.  They also have training materials and can refer you to buy the right textbooks to complete your studies.
  • The American Society of Power Engineers, Inc. (ASOPE) www.asope4.org Area Covered: Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and the District of Columbia.  They also have training materials and can refer you to buy the right textbooks to complete your studies.
Power Engineering Training Systems is the new business entity that provides in class and distance learning materials with suggested textbooks to buy for Canada, the U.S.of A. as well as around the world.  Please visit their web site at the following address  http://www.powerengineering.ca

For the United States it is best to go to US Labor Agencies (Click here to go to a list of US Labor Agencies) and ask where to access the educational materials.  It will vary from state to state and can change through the years.

The best approach is to go through the U.S. training and apprenticeship section of this site to acquire the information you need to get the training materials you want.

The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology [S.A.I.T.] is your main contact in Canada and internationally for those who wish to deal directly.  You can go to go to the Canadian training and apprenticeship section or call or write http://www.powerengineering.ca.

They may be able to give the name and address of the closest educational institution offering their training materials or simply provide materials directly to you.

There are opportunities for foreign students to attend full time classes at S.A.I.T. at a reasonable cost.
